Obituary

ABNER MANSFIELD BECK, Age 75, a resident of Marco Island, FL and Collierville, TN and formerly of Charleston, MO, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at the NCH Hospital in Naples, FL.

Born March 2, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late John Abner and Hazel Mansfield Beck, Abner was raised in Charleston where he graduated from Charleston High School and then graduated from the University of Missouri where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Abner had a successful career in real estate working in the real estate division of Prudential Insurance Company for 30 years. Upon retirement Abner enjoyed fishing and watching baseball.

On December 21, 1958 he married Julia Ruth Henson of Bell City, Missouri who survives of the home.

He is also survived by his son Steven M. Beck of College Station, Texas and two grandchildren, Elise Beck of Fort Worth, Texas and Laura Beck of College Station, Texas.

There is no visitation.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. Rev. Dan Faust, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
