TERESA ALBERTA CRISS, age 89, a resident of Charleston died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Charleston Manor.
She was born June 26, 1924 in Commerce to the late August and Annie Leible. She had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She had worked at Brown Shoe Company, the Charleston Manor and Dr. Charles Rolwing's office prior to her employment as a caseworker with the Division of Family Services retiring in 1988.
On July 15, 1946 she married Earl Douglas Criss who preceded her in death on October 28, 1992.
Surviving are three children, Robert Earl (Barbara) Criss of Benton, Donna (Bob) Brandt of Manchester, and Dennis (Jan) Criss of Lafayette, CO; one brother, Henry Leible of Sikeston; one sister, Ann Damron of LaCenter, KY; five grandchildren, Tami (Chad) Payne of Macedonia, IL, Ken Brandt of Manchester, Taylor Criss of Lafayette, CO, Kim Schlosser of Cape Girardeau, and Christy (Joey) Ellis of Dexter; also 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Leible and Leonard Leible, and one sister, Clara Scott.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Father Tom Kiefer, pastor of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, will serve as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ken Brandt, Taylor Criss, Chad Payne, Steve Leible, Alan Damron, and Logan Schlosser.
