ALBERTA SIDNEY BUSH McKINLEY, Age 91, a resident of Bertrand, Mo., died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born April 26, 1918 at Bertrand, Missouri to the late Albert H. and Edythe Erie Lefler Bush, she was a lifelong resident of Bertrand and a 1937 Graduate of the Diehlstadt High School. A lifelong member of the Bertrand United Methodist Church, she had served the church in many capacities as a member of the Church Board, Church secretary and treasurer and had been a member of the church choir. She was employed with the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston for over 30 years until her retirement.
On March 5, 1938, she married Clayborn James McKinley, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1997.
Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, James A. and Betty McKinley of Lawrence, KS; one daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Mike Lane of Georgetown, TX; one sister, Evelyn Burks of Ripley, MS; five grandchildren, Lt. Col. Michael K. Lane, Jr., Major Kevin James McKinley, Kelly Lane Huff, Marcia Lane McMahon and Debbie Moudy; 10 great grandchildren; also her special friends, Shirley Chaney, Thelma Peters and Joyce Wailly; also a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kirn Bush and Bernard Bush.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo. Rev. Lois McRill, pastor of the Bertrand United Methodist, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Lt. Col. Michael K. Lane, Major Kevin James McKinley, Sidney Burks, Dwight Burks, Pete Gates, Jimmy Benefield, Bill Self and Tim McElwain.
