Allen Ray Basinger, age 68, of Sikeston, MO, died Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 25, 1956, in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Delbert Henry Basinger and Ida Ellen Jackson Basinger, he had lived in southeast Missouri most of his life.
He was married to Sherry Ann Stewart Basinger for 25 years. He was employed many years with Bootheel Cotton Company, formerly the Big Prairie Cotton Company, of Matthews, Missouri. He did agricultural work his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting and wood carving.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers, James D Basinger, Carl Eugene Basinger and Charles Edwards Basinger.
Surviving in addition to Sherry Ann Stewart Basinger are his children Allen Ray Basinger of Sikeston, MO and Heather (Deontai) Basinger of Cape Girardeau, MO; his granddaughters, Madison Basinger of Sikeston, MO and Delayna Basinger of Cape Girardeau; and his sisters; Shirley (Don) Wallace of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Vincent, Ida Mae Stokes and Wanda Hinshaw all of Sikeston, MO and Ola Poley of Morehouse, Missouri.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
