Allen Turner Dorris, Sr., Age 72, of Diehlstadt, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born January 18, 1949, at Charleston, MO, to the late James Allen Dorris and Rose Shankle Dorris.  He had lived in Diehlstadt a number of years and had been employed with Bob Harris Service Station and later with Jack Feezor Farms.

In 1983, he married Sharon Pemberton, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his children, Gary (Barbara) Dorris, Scott Dorris, Kenneth (Melanie) Dorris, Michael (Sheila) Bowles, David Bowles, Rhonda (Chris) Whybark and Ronald Bowles; his brothers and sisters, Lucy Slaven, Shelby Holmes, Terri Dampier, Ann (Curtis) Staggs, Wylie Dorris, Larry Dorris, Lola (Walter) Bryars, Gary (Stephanie) Dorris and Archie (Lynn) Dorris; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; also, a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Allen Turner Dorris, Jr., Rebecca J. Dorris and Michelle Bowles; his sister, Sharon Leal; and his daughter in law, Tammy Bowles.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Chad Bles will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Dorris, Hunter Dorris, Trevor Bowles, Matt Dorris, Jonathan Bowles, James Dorris, Walter Bryars, Chris Whybark, Cecil Slaven, John Whybark, Kyptin Caskey, Keith Caskey and Eli McCutchen.
