ALMA GAIL ABLES HENDERSON, age 92, a resident of Sikeston, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Miner Nursing Center.
She was born May 12, 1920, in Ballard County, KY, to the late Lawrence W. and Etta Pearl Moore Ables. Other than having resided in Memphis, TN for 27 years, she had lived in Sikeston most of her life where she was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
On June 11, 1939, she married Oda B. Henderson, who preceded her in death on September 17, 1993.
Surviving are: one grandson, Scott Henderson of Bertrand; one granddaughter, Julie Wilemon of Altoona, AL; one great grandson, Dillon WIlemon of Altoona, AL; one great granddaughter, Lacy Bastian of Birmingham, AL; one great great grandson, Peyton Fritz of Birmingham, AL; and one daughter in law, Joann Henderson McMoy of Memphis, TN.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Myron E. Henderson and Willard Brian Henderson; two brothers, Clennis Ables and Cline Ables and four sisters, Norene Singleton, Pansy Limbaugh, Mildred Parker and Lawrencetta Anderson
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Rev. Joe D. McCollough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
