Alma Jain Cowan, age 68, a resident of Sikeston, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Festus.

Born July 5, 1954, at Iuka, Mississippi, to the late Jess Hearn and Alma Lee Richardson Hearn, she had lived most of her life in Modesto, California before returning to reside in Charleston and later Sikeston.

Surviving is her son, Travis Cowan of Modesto, California and her daughter Stephanie Kail of Jackson, Tennessee.  Also surviving is her sister, Glenda Ledbetter of Bertrand, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenny Hearn and Tipton June Hearn.

A private service will be held at a later date.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
