Angela Lynn Oliver Lindsey, born on December 8, 1959, in Granite City, IL, entered into heaven on October 15, 2026, at the age of 66. Angie was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Parker Seifried, countless aunts and uncles, and her beloved grandmother, Hazel Elizabeth Roach, with whom she was incredibly close. She is survived by her daughters, Claire (Jason) Grisham of Sikeston, MO, and Caitlin Lindsey, of Memphis, TN, one sister, April Seifried Bratton (Homer) of East Prairie, one brother, Sean Seifried of Las Vegas, NV, and her niece, Kirstin Bratton Allbright (Stephen) of Jonesboro, AR. Angie was honored to carry on the legacy of “Mamaw” for her grandsons, Maxwell Deacon Grisham and Jaxon Clyde Grisham, whom she loved dearly. She will also be deeply missed by her life-long best friend, Jackie Adkisson McGee (Bobby) and their children LeAnn and Jennifer who truly are family.
In 1987, she was married to Michael Owen Lindsey, previously of Cairo, IL, and the two remained close friends until her passing. Together, they raised two daughters and instilled a strong work ethic, competitive spirit, and shared their knowledge and love of sports. A lifelong resident of East Prairie, MO, Angie graduated from East Prairie High School in 1978 and returned here to raise her family after attending Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS, on a full athletic scholarship for both tennis and badminton.
Angie’s professional background contributed in so many ways to the person she was and she took pride in doing her best work and always doing right by others. From a young age, she began working locally and assisted with cleaning and preparation of the facilities of McMikle Funeral Home in East Prairie, under the direction of Mr. Elgin and Mrs. Sue McMikle, who were truly more family than friends. In 1982, she began her career in healthcare as a Bookkeeper and Assistant Administrator of Charleston Manor. She was there until 1985 when she accepted the role of Nursing Home Administrator at Greenbrier Manor in Cairo at the age of only 26. She cared for the residents as if they were her own family members and made sure they knew they were loved. When Greenbrier closed in 1990, she began working for Galemore Motor Company where she led the Service Department until 2003.
Perhaps one of her most proud and memorable careers was when she opened her own home bakery and catering service, Heavenly Creations Sinful Delights. Those who knew her well, knew how much love she put into creating food for others. In the months before her passing, she had returned to baking for others again and found that many of her prior customers returned to enjoy her creations. She also served as a substitute teacher in the East Prairie School District for quite some time, building relationships with students who were always happy to see “Mrs. Angie” again out in the community as they grew up.
While she took many paths professionally, healthcare was always in her heart and she returned to this role as Activity Director at Clearview Nursing Center in 2007. In 2014, she became the Director of Social Services and eventually Assistant Administrator at Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation where she spent several years serving the residents and families until she retired in March of 2023.
After her retirement, she yearned for a way to continue to express her creativity. She began painting and built her business, Watertower Artwerx, where she was able to showcase her God-given talent as a watercolor artist. She was self-taught, but her skills were undeniable. She created one-of-a-kind custom art pieces that brought joy to so many people. In 2025, she was selected as the Feature Artist for the Dogwood Azalea festival and she was able to display and sell her art at the Historical Society in Charleston. Every piece she painted was unique and usually had a beautiful story of how it began in her mind.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed giving back to her community by coaching many youth sports and volunteering at church. In the 6 months prior to her passing, she spent her time fulfilling life-long dreams including: traveling, going to concerts, spending time with family, and spreading her love of God.
The family would like to extend many thanks to all of the Cardiovascular healthcare providers and nurses at St. Louis University Hospital along with her Otolaryngologist, Dr. John Eisenbies, and his team who provided exceptional care for her in her final days. Further, they would like to express their sincere gratitude to her Mercy South Cardiology and Heart Failure teams led by Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Carey, and Nurse Practitioner Michelle Yu who provided compassionate and individualized patient care and gave her countless opportunities to enjoy her life and make memories with her friends and family.
Finally, the family would like to share their heartfelt appreciation for Mr. Terry Parker, her lifelong friend, and all of the staff of McMikle Funeral Home who not only ensured her safe return home but did it with such dignity, care, and love.
In lieu of a traditional service, the family is planning a joyful celebration in the coming weeks to honor Angie’s life. The specific date is to follow and will be updated here when available.
