Anita Lee "Skeeter" Forrester, 51, a resident of Sikeston, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Nov. 11, 1962 in St. Louis to Mildred J. (Garrison) Forrester Burnes, who survives of Sikeston and the late Carl William Forrester, Sr. She had previously lived in St. Louis, Michigan and Marble Hill and moved to Sikeston when she was 17; she attended Temple of Faith General Baptist Church in Sikeston and was employed at Havco Wood Products in Cape Girardeau. In addition to her mother, she is survived by 3 brothers, Elmer Forrester of Cahokia, IL, Stacy Forrester of Sikeston and Mark VanBrook of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; 3 step-brothers, Bobby Burnes, Steve Burnes and David Burnes all of New Madrid and 1 step-sister, Brenda Burnes of Sikeston. Several nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Carl William Forrester, Jr., 1 sister Virginia Akers and her step-father, Rev. Robert Burnes. A Memorial Service will be at 6:00 pm Friday, Jan 24, 2014 at Temple of Faith General Baptist Church on Smith Avenue, with the pastor, Allen Rhyne officiating. To fulfill "Skeeter's" request, everyone should wear their Cardinal (or red) Shirts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elmer Forrester, Stacy Forrester, Mark VanBrook, Andrew VanBrook, Christopher VanBrook, Susan Cox and Becky Strawn.
