Ann Raines, 69, a life-long resident of this area, died August 20, 2017 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.  She was born Aug. 28, 1947 in Morehouse to the late Walter and Lottie B. (Martin) Brookshire.  She was a Baptist, and had worked at Hunter Acres Nursing Home and Burch Foods.  On July 3, 1965 she was married to Richard Allen "Corky" Raines in Sikeston and he preceded her in death April 27, 2012.  She is survived by one daughter, Angela Raines of the home; 2 brothers, O.D. Martin of Bloomfield and L.C. Martin of Nevada; and by 2 sisters, Linda Brookshire of Sikeston and Carolyn Layton of Cape Girardeau.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Allen Raines, Jr.  Graveside rites will be at 11:00 am Thursday, Aug. 24 at Blodgett Cemetery with Rev.
