ANNA ELIZABETH STRICKER BENNETT, Age 99, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her home in Charleston.
Born June 26, 1912, in Charleston, MO, to the late Ben W. and Mary Bruenderman Stricker, she had lived in Charleston her entire life where she was a 1932 graduate of St. Henry Catholic High School and was the oldest living member of St. Henry Catholic Church. For a number of years she was employed as a clerk at the Charleston City Hall and later worked with her husband in the office of Thomas Bennett Realty.
On April 28, 1937, she married Thomas H. Bennett, who preceded her in death on January 15, 1990.
Surviving are: two daughters and one son in law, Mary Jane Bruner of Paducah, KY and Nancy and Ronnie Laster of Barlow, KY; two sisters, Isabell Kirn of Cape Girardeau and Louise Sunderman of Springfield, MO; sisters in law, Ibbie Bennett of South Pittsburgh, TN and Winnie Bennett of Jasper, TN; four grandchildren, Lee Ann Bruner of Calvert City, KY; Thomas Bruner of Wyatt, Leslie Bruner Thresher of East Prairie and Rhonda Laster Beasley of La Center, KY; great grandchildren, Chase Laster, Blake Pendergrass and Jayden Anderson of LaCenter, KY; Kyle Bruner of Wyatt and Lawson Bennett Thresher of East Prairie; one great great grandson, Lane Thomas Bruner of Wyatt, MO.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Stricker, Lawrence Stricker, Paul Stricker; sisters, Gertrude Gullion, Frances Stricker and Bernadine Conroy; brothers in law, Jefferson Bennett, G.H. Bennett and Ray Bennett and by her sisters in law, Maude Kirkpatrick and Alice Williamson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the St. Henry Catholic Church of Charleston with Father Glenn Eftink and Monsignor Richard Rolwing, as celebrants.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Glenn, Randy Thompson, Tim Rolwing, Hunter Rolwing, Leo Schott and Marion Stricker. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
