Anna Mae Burleson Heuiser, age 66, of Sikeston, MO, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Born October 29, 1958, in Sikeston, MO, to the late John D. Burleson and Gracie Lavern Hart Burleson, Anna was a lifelong resident of the Diehlstadt and Sikeston area and a 1977 graduate of Sikeston High School. Anna committed her life to her children and husband. During the passing of her father, Anna discovered a passion for hospice. Then, Anna returned to school, became a Registered Nurse, and dedicated her life to her hospice patients as a ministry for Jesus Christ. Anna always served the patients and families in her care with a gentle smile and loving heart, striving to share the love and grace she herself received from her Savior. As grandchildren became a part of her life, she devoted herself to her favorite job of all, being Nanna.

Anna is survived by her spouse of 48 years, Kevin Dale Heuiser, her high-school sweetheart. Also surviving are their children: DeAnna Heuiser of Sikeston, Stephen Bradley (Tanya) Heuiser of St. Louis, Jenny (Doug) Wede of Halls, TN and Scott (Andrew) Heuiser of Elizabethton, TN; five grandchildren: Aidan Heuiser, Jacob Wede, Hannah Wede, Elliot Heuiser, and Isabel Heuiser; her brothers and sisters: Pam (Dwight) Mills of Dexter, MO, Patricia (Terry) Wilson of Hot Springs, AR, John Douglas (Chlorena) Burleson II of Scott City, MO, Derek (Robyn) Burleson of Commerce, MO; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins survive. Everyone who knew her knew what a true friend she could be.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Anna's pallbearers will consist of most of her nephews and grandchildren: Ben Mills, Garrett Burleson, Grant Burleson, Aidan Heuiser, Elliot Heuiser, Jacob Wede, and Hannah Wede.
