ANNA MAE GENTRY O'NEAL, age 98, formerly of Charleston, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Gilbert, AZ.
Born February 19, 1916 in Delta to the late J.R. and Bertha Shell Gentry, she lived most of her life in Charleston where she had worked for her husband at Brown Shoe Company and later they opened O'Neal Portrait Studio. A member of the Charleston United Methodist Church, she was an active volunteer at the Charleston Nutrition Center winning many awards for hours served and money raised prior to moving to Arizona in 2003.
On November 16, 1938 she married Curtis O'Neal who preceded her in death on March 11, 1981.
Surviving are three sons, Jim (Diane) O'Neal of Rolla, Ken (Shera) O'Neal of Casa Grande, AZ, and Gene (Faye) O'Neal of Springfield; two grandchildren, Creston (Amy) O'Neal of Casa Grande, AZ and Kena O'Neal of Mesa, AZ; and one great granddaughter, Lexi O'Neal of Casa Grande, AZ.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Sheldon Gentry, Roland "Kayo" Gentry, Harry Gentry, and Gerald Gentry.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
