Obituary

ANNA SUE ROWLAND, Age 72, a resident of Wyatt, MO, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 4, 1938 in Lepanto, Arkansas, to the late Noah Lee and Lillie Florence Tadlock Pierce, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wyatt. She had worked at Prairie Manufacturing in East Prairie, The Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston and then Charleston R-1 Schools until her retirement.

On June 25, 1955 she married Phillip H. Rowland who survives of the home in Wyatt.

Other survivors include a daughter, Karen Turley and her husband, Larry of Charleston and Phil Rowland and his wife, Tammy of Charleston. Grandchildren: Todd Hall and his wife Lacey of Charleston; Seth Rowland and his wife, Andrea of New York City, NY: Zach Rowland a student at the University of Mississippi at Oxford, Mississippi; Samantha Turley Cooper and her husband Danny of Sikeston and Chuck Turley and his wife Cindy of Ashland City, Tennessee. Great-grandchildren: Finn, Grady and Cecily Hall of Charleston; Clayton, Abby, Amber and Shawn Cooper of Sikeston and Savanna Turley of Ashland City, Tennessee. She is also survived by sisters, Gerry Marshall and her husband David; Juanita Terrell and Faye Franklin all of Wyatt; Nina Lou Rodgers of Peoria, Illinois and Janice Gibson of Granite City, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Everett Eugene Pierce and Dewey Wayne Pierce; two nieces, Donna Franklin Ashworth and Shirley Terrell Hester and a nephew, Billy Franklin.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2010. Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wyatt, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Seth Rowland, Zach Rowland, Todd Hall, Michael Dowdy, Patrick Kellett and Brad Gibson.
