AUDREY MAE ALLEN MARSHALL, Age 82, a resident of Charleston, died Saturday, August 08, 2009 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born August 20, 1926, at McLellon, Arkansas, to the late Len Cephus and Edna Lewis Woods Allen, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life. One of the last living charter members of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church at Wyatt, Mo., she attended the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston. Always sharing her smile and her laughter, Ms. Audrey loved her sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and the family dinners. She especially loved her dog, "Dottie" who survives of the home.
On July 2, 1946, she married Harrison Ray Marshall who preceded her in death on July 16, 1981.
Surviving are: one son, Daniel Ray 'Danny' Marshall of Bertrand; four daughters, Rita Clardy of Sikeston, Sheila Pullen and Cathy Powell of Charleston and Elsie Brunck of Morehouse; two brothers, James Allen of Charleston and Sam Allen of Webster Groves, MO; two sisters, Katie Green of St. Louis and Mildred Lester of Edgerton, KS; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Virginia Taylor, Lennie L. Duncan, Evelyn Smith and Margie Hepler.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2009 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Her nephew, Ross Marshall and Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nina Heppe.
