Awald Anthony Bohnert, 90, a resident of Brighton, TN, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN.

He was born July 26, 1928 in Longtown, Missouri to the late Susanna (Renner) Bohnert Milfelt and Joseph Luke Bohnert.  He had been a rolling Mill Operator at Alumax Factory for over 39 years, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had attended Catholic, Church of Christ and Baptist Churches.

He was first married to Lula Bohnert later to Anna Bell Bohnert, who preceded in death, and his current companion, Joanna Engle, who survives of the home in Brighton.

Also surviving are 1 son, Earl Bohnert of Bertrand; 1 daughter, Evelyn Aldridge of Atoka, TN and several step-children; and 1 sister, Norma Bohnert. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Charles Lewis and 1 brother, Roy Bohnert.  Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 2 great-greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Friday, April 12, from 11:00 am until time for services at 1:00 pm.  Rev. Al Flohr, interim pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church will officiate and burial, with full military honors, will follow at Garden of Memories.
