BARBA SANDURA MELTON, age 73, died Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born July 1, 1947, at Charleston, MO to Ura Ansel and Margie Andersen Goodale. She later moved to Matthews on "Silk Stocking Avenue". Barba was a political activist and was constantly continuing to further her education. In her spare time, she loved to crochet and play the organ and piano. Barba sang in a trio and a quartet. "Quick-witted" was a good way to describe her. She loved to go with her daughter, Lori, to churches and nursing home and perform skits to get a good laugh. She was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel.

On October 28, 1978, she married Howard Franklin Melton II, who survives of the home.

Surviving is her daughter, Lori Colleen (Michael) Melton, of Matthews, MO; two grandsons, Ansel Loring Melton, of Sikeston, MO; Michael Lee Melton II, of Matthews, MO; and one great grandchild, Ansel Timothy Melton, of Sikeston, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lee Elgin Brown and Elgy Linn Brown.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2021, at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Lloyd Lathum, will officiate.
