Barbara Ann Chapman, 80, of Bertrand, Missouri, was called to her heavenly Father on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Though she has lost her battle to cancer, she gains her heavenly wings.
Barbara was born January 17, 1938 to Harvie Lee and Dorothy Craddock Jackson. She graduated with the Class of 1956 from Anniston High School and followed her dreams of becoming a beautician.
Barbara and her high school sweetheart, Jack, were married December 29th, 1956.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Junior Study Club and women of Eastern Star in Charleston, MO. Barbara enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, decorating, traveling with friends on church trips, and spending time with family.
Survivors include three children: Bruce and Marilyn Chapman of East Prairie, MO, Judi Rollins of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Brice Chapman of Charleston, MO; eight grandchildren: Bruce Chapman II of Charleston, MO, Natalie and Russ Wescoat of Poplar Bluff, MO, Christopher and Sara Chapman of Grand Chain, IL, Maryssa Whitaker of Ava, IL, Rebecca and Jake McNichols of Oxford, MS, Katherine Rollins of Covington, LA, Benjamin Chapman of Lexington, KY, and Anna Caroline Rollins of Cape Girardeau, MO; nine great-grandchildren: Hayli Chapman of Panama City, FL, Meridyth Givens of East Prairie, MO, Clayton Spaulding of Grand Chain, IL, Peyton Givens of East Prairie, MO, Lauren Wescoat of Poplar Bluff, MO, Bella Chapman of Charleston, MO, Hayden Whitaker of Ava, IL, Halle Whitaker of Ava, IL, Lane Wescoat of Poplar Bluff, MO and Shelby Chapman of Charleston, MO; and two sisters: Ruth Watson of Charleston, MO and Janice and her husband Jimmy Nolen of Bertrand, MO.
Preceding Barbara in death includes her husband; parents; son-in-law, Robbie Rollins; grandson, Micah Givens; and brother-in-law, Bill Watson.
Among all of Barbara's achievements, her family was her pride and joy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Charleston, MO. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at the church. The Rev. Gerald Collier, will officiate.
Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Chapman, Benjamin Chapman, Russ Wescoat, Jake McNichols, Josh Hart and Dennis Cox.
