Barbara Janice Walker Haubold, was born December 25, 1943, in Mississippi County, MO to the late William Eugene Walker and Blanche Oliphant Walker and passed to her heavenly home, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home in Bertrand.

She grew up in rural Mississippi County and after high school graduation went on to obtain her degree as a registered nurse.  For over 58 years she cared for people and worked at Sells Nursing Center, other nursing centers in the area, the Missouri Delta Medical Center, Noranda, Mississippi County Jail, Semo Health Network and Caring Hands Home Health.

Barbara was a member of the Sikeston Community Church and loved to sing and play the piano.

She was first married to Billie Briggs.  She later married Claude C. "Lard" Haubold, who both preceded her in death.

Surviving is the light of her life, her daughter, Rhonda (John) Parsons; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon) Marlow and Joshua Parsons and her great granddaughter, Addie Marlow; her sister, Judy Walker Blaylock; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Wilbur (Verneal) Walker, Kenneth (Wylodene) Walker, Glen (Velma) Walker, LeRoy (Evonne) Walker, Betty Jean Walker and Shirley Joan Walker.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  Rev. Glen Cantrell will officiate.
