Barbara Sue Maddox Shrum, age 71, of Sikeston, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born January 29, 1950, in Illinois to the late Ralph Maddox and Alberta "Bea" Webber Maddox Tanner.  She had lived in Sikeston a number of years where she had been employed a Green Meadows Retirement Home and Lil' Bulldogs Childcare Center.

She was married to Earl Lee Shrum who preceded her in death.

Surviving is her son, Larry Maddox and her daughter, Connie Maddox, both of Sikeston; her grandchildren, Chelsie Moore, Cheyenne Moore and Cayleigh Lee and one great grandson to be born soon, Zi'Air.  Also surviving are her brothers, Jimmy Maddox and Ralph Maddox; several nephews and nieces and special family friends, Margaret Peel Thatch and her family, of Sikeston.

In addition to her husband, father and mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sammy Maddox and her stepfather, Kenneth Tanner.

Private services will be held.
