Barbara Jean Harper Yancy, age 67, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Delta South Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born May 2, 1957, at Cairo, IL, to the late Leland Fletcher Harper and Hester Willadean Templeton Harper, she grew up in the Bridges community of rural Mississippi County and was a 1976 graduate of Charleston High School.  She was employed with the Malco Theaters in Sikeston for over 47 years and attended the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Yancy.

Surviving is her brother, Bill Harper of Sikeston; her sisters, Linda Bagwell of Sevierville, TN; Patricia Branum of Williston, TN and Mary Calhoun of Charleston; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Ray Harper, Leland Edward Harper, Bobby Harper and Ricky Harper and her sisters, Eva Corbell and Debra Lynn Stewart.

A private family service and burial will be held at the Harper Cemetery at Maynard, AR.

McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
