Bernice (Edna) Jacqline Ashby, age 77, formerly of Sikeston, died at 10:10 pm Saturday Aug. 4, 2012 at N H C Health Care at Kennett.
She was born July 10, 1935 at East Prairie to the late Raymond and Edna (Siggeres) Goines.
A resident of this area most of her life, she was married to William E. Ashby in June, 1976 at Morehouse and he preceded heer in death Nov. 24, 2000.
She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law: Arlen & Janet Hobbs of Kennett; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dale Tilley of Sikeston; and 1 brother, Larry Goines of Poplar Bluff; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, John E. Tinsley, 1 daughter, Brenda Ashby, 1 granddaughter, Mallory Hobbs and 1 brother, Lowell Goines.
Friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Aug. 8 with Rev. Wayland Tom, pastor of Bridge Ministries at Kennett, MO officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Andrews, Greg Andrews, Brandon Hobbs, Dale Tilley. Greg Akers,and Danny Mays.
