Walsie "Berniece" George, 82, died at her residence in Sikeston, Friday Jan. 24, 2014. She was born Nov. 3, 1931 at Limestone, Arkansas to the late Tobe and Etta (Brown) Adams. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of The Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church , had volunteered at the Oaks Senior Center and was formerly a sewing machine operator at International Shoe and later worked at Milliken Publishing in Sikeston. She was married to Luther George Dec. 22, 1979 at Morley and he preceded her in death July 27, 1997. She is survived by 1 sister, Lola Butler of Sikeston, 1 brother & sister-in-law, James & Thelma Adams of Sikeston and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, Jan. 27 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, Jan 28 at The Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Rick Lovall, the pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Buchheit, Tony Sauceda, Brandon Sauceda, Jacob Sauceda, Rachel Sauceda, Hannah Sauceda and Brookelyn Sauceda.
