Obituary

Bernita Gibson, 71, of Wyatt, Mo.,  died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Bernita lived a fulfilling life as a loving mother to her son Aaron,  an amazing wife to her husband of 50 years, Kenneth, and a friend to so many. She enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball games with Kenneth, cooking and spending time and talking with her family and friends.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone she interacted with and loved.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2022, at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Private burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and gift items, the family requests remembering Bernita by giving to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at Memphis, Tennessee.
