BERTHA ALLENE HEDGE, age 76, known as "Poohie", died Friday, October 12, 2018, at her home in Charleston.
Born September 25, 1942, at Charleston, to the late George and Rita Sisk Vinson, she had lived in Charleston her entire life and was mom and caregiver to her family that she loved so much.

On July 1, 1961, she married Melvin Curtis Hedge, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1992.

Survivors include, one son, David Hedge of Sikeston; four daughters, Sheila Vinson, Rhonda Passley, Kimberly Riley and Tina Housman all of Charleston; three brothers, Jesse Vinson and Tony Vinson of Charleston and Jerry Vinson of East Prairie; one sister, Donna Jones of Charleston; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Martin "Marty" Hedge; one daughter, Karen Regina Hedge; three brothers, Calvin Vinson, Larry Joe Vinson and Lawrence Edward Vinson; three sisters, Wanda Faye Bone, Linda Carter and Ann Hale and three grandchildren, Jamie Blasingain, Harley Hedge and Lillian Hedge.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Josh Revelle will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Ladale Haynes, Chris Hedge, James Murray, Bryan Campbell, Timmy Vinson, II, Cody Woodworth, and Mario Clemons.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ricky Riley, Josh Hedge, Tina Housman, Stephanie Riley, Beth Johnson, and Christopher Vinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
