Bessie Francis Fitzgerald Garner-Harris, age 77, of Wyatt, MO, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Memory Lane Care Center in Dexter, MO.

She was born December 2, 1946, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Oras Douglas Fitzgerald and Mary Louise Lomax Fitzgerald.  Bessie grew up in Wyatt but lived in Arkansas several years before returning to Wyatt to be near her family.   She then worked as a riverboat cook until she retired. She was of Pentecostal belief.

Surviving are her sons, Ronald Allen (Tina Beth) Garner and Jeff (Sarah) Garner; her grandchildren, Clayton Allen Garner, Mitchell Garner and Will Garner; her brothers, Riley Fitzgerald, Sr., Clint Fitzgerald and Michael Fitzgerald; her sisters, Linda O'Toole and Evelyn Redditt; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Fitzgerald, Charles Fitzgerald, Coy Douglas Fitzgerald and Don Fitzgerald and her sisters, Stella Bauer. Shirley Ann Fitzgerald and Charlotte Fitzgerald Knece.

Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.  Kenneth Gibson will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
