Obituary

BETTY EARLENE BROWN, age 80, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son in law, Pansay and Arthur Phillips, in Sikeston after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1930 in Morehouse to the late Tom and Emma Gertrude Whitlock Donaldson. She had lived in Mississippi County most of her life, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bertrand and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #4294.

On October 26, 1947 she married James Dennie "J.D." Brown who preceded her in death in May 10, 1991.

Surviving are one son, Mike Brown of Burton, MI; five daughters, Barbara Brown of Charleston, Pansay Phillips of Sikeston, Michelle Brown of Bertrand, Carla Skinner of Cleveland, OH, Donna Chiofalo of Schenectady, NY; 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

Three sons, James D. "Jimmy" Brown Jr., Jerry Wayne Brown, and Roger Allen Brown; one daughter, Cheryl Renae Brown; one great grandson, Zachary Allen Hailey; two brothers, Miles Robert "Bob" Donaldson, and Howard Wilbur Donaldson; and two sisters, Idalene Heaton and Lillian Isbell, all preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Sunday, November 28, 2010, with Rev. Ron Aldridge, Pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship in Charleston, officiating.

Interment will be held in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Hailey, Jeff Hailey, Dennis Skinner, Arthur Phillips, and Arthur Phillips, Jr. and Mike Borders.
