Betty Jean (Wells) Clark, 69, a resident of Sikeston, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 11, 1948 in St. Louis to the late Levi Adolph and Edith Mary (Phillips) Wells. She had been married to Billy Ray Clark, had been a hotel maid and nurse's aide, and was a member of Temple of Faith Baptist Church in Sikeston. She is survived by 1 son, John Tracy Wells of St. Louis , 1 daughter, Billie Jean Clark of Cape Girardeau and 1 sister, Carolyn (Lowell) Hayden of Bertrand. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Brandon Wells of South Carolina, John Leo Wells of Cape Girardeau, Alyssa Jade Wells of Poplar Bluff and Colton Michael Marion Wells of St. Louis; 2 great-grandchildren, Preston and Kelsey Wells of Cape Girardeau; 1 brother-in-law, Doyle Break of Hardy, Ark. and 1 sister-in-law, Barbara Wells of Dudley and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Sherman Wells, Vernon Wells, Harold Wells and Farril Wells, and 6 sisters, Faye Ellen Wells, Helen Lovins, Teresa Warren, Mary Pulliam, Wilma Break and Opal Cecil. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 11:00 am until time for funeral service at 1:00 pm. Rev. Brian Flanigan, pastor of Victory Life Center of Oran will officiate and burial will follow at New Morley Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Wells, Johnny Wagner, George Chaffin, Jason Fujarski, Gary Luntts, and Dereck Mimms.
