Betty Louise Cyr, age 80, died Thursday, December 25, 2025, at her home in Dogwood, MO.

Born November 30, 1945, at Cave City, Arkansas, to the late Hubert Whitener and Edith Smith Whitener, she and her husband lived in various places around the United States before settling in the Dogwood Community of Mississippi County, MO in 2018.  She retired from Baxter Health Care in 2015.  They enjoyed living in Dogwood near some of their family.

On October 2, 1965, she married Norman Joseph Cyr, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2022.

Surviving are her children, daughter Carla Cyr and her husband, Warren; daughter, Cindy and husband Greg Podlensy; and son, Carl Cyr and his wife Amanda; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; her brother Daniel and his wife, Linda; and her sister, Wanda; also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy and Joyce.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, MO, where she will be laid to rest with her dear husband, Norman.
