BETTY FAY ROSSON HOUSMAN, Age 71, died Thursday, May 10, 2018, at her home in Charleston.
Born December 25, 1946, at Lawrenceburg, TN, to the late Steve and Veliah Esther Simpson Rosson, she had lived in Charleston most of her life where she had been employed as a floor leader with Brown Shoe Company and assisted in the operation of the family business, Housman's Fish Market. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
On January 24, 1964, she married Bruce Douglas Housman, who preceded her in death January 26, 2004.
Surviving is three sons, Anthony Housman of Charleston; Robert (Michele) Housman of Sikeston and Danny (Laurie) Housman of Charleston; one daughter, Magen Housman of Charleston; one sister, Connie (Glenn) Stephens of Madison, AL; 7 grandchildren, Brandon Housman, Colton Housman, Ryan (Sarah) Housman, Braxton Housman, Trinity (Robert) Smedley and Victoria Miller; 5 great grandchildren, Amiah Williams, Amelia Kent, Questus Kent, Jr., Quinton Kent and Weston Housman.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Marie Housman Miller; one grandson, Austin Taylor Housman; two brothers, Michael Dale Rosson and Jerry Wayne Rosson and by one sister, Joan Brown.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Rev. George Nite, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be, Brandon Housman, Colton Housman, Braxton Housman, Ryan Housman, Mike Housman and Chance Maness.
