Betty Lou Husher LaFontain, age 95, of Sikeston, died July 17, 2022, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born December 8, 1926, in Scott County, MO, to the late David Isaac Husher and Anna Bell Miller Husher.  Betty had lived in Sikeston her entire life where she was a lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church and had also attended the Calvary Temple Church.  In recent years she could be seen as a greeter at Walmart, a job she enjoyed.

She was first married to Leonard Andres who preceded her in death.  On October 17, 1981, she married Nephi L. "Chief" LaFontain, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2014.

Surviving is her longtime friend, Mary Hampton of Sikeston as well as her friends and staff members at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Husher and her sisters, Irene Crawford and Mary Deane.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  Chad Bles will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
