BETTY JO MORROW-SPIKER, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Country Place Assisted Living in Scott City, MO.

Born August 28, 1935, at Braggadocio, MO, to the late Ralph Naile and Ethel Lee Howell Tesney, she was raised by her mother and step father, the late William Wes Tesney. She lived in Diehlstadt most of her life and had been employed with Brown Shoe Company in Charleston. After the death of her first husband, she moved to Wappapello and later to Poplar Bluff where she had been employed as a cook at the Twin Towers. Avid in reading and studying the Bible, she was of Baptist belief and later joined Highland Church of Christ.

On July 4, 1953, she married Garlan Morrow, who preceded her in death on October 1, 1994. She later married Dr. Robert Marshall Spiker on September 13, 2003 and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2016.

Surviving are her son and daughter in law, William and Carol Weber Morrow of Jackson; granddaughters, Jessica (Travis) Sexton and Amanda (Luke) Nitsch; great granddaughter, Remi Bruenderman; her brother, Roger Tesney of Sikeston and her sister, Nelda Creek of Charleston; also, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Tesney and her sister, Frankie Turner.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2019. Rev. George Nite, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
