Betty Waldrop Walton

April 6, 1924 – July 16, 2022

Betty Jane (Billie)Waldrop Walton, formerly of Braggadocio, MO, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 16, 2022, at her home in Jonesboro, AR, surrounded by her family.

Born April 16, 1924, at Braggadocio, to the late Edward Livingston "Leive" Waldrop and Edith J. Hamlett Waldrop, Miss Billie was one of nine children.

On July 8, 1950, she and Ollie Walton were married in Osceola, AR. He preceded her in death December. 2, 2000.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers- Marion, Marvin, and Muriel Waldrop; 4 sisters- Doris Waldrop, Mary Pickens, Jewel Wilson, and Nellie Rohrer; and 1 dearly loved son-in-law, Butch Coleman.

Survivors include: one daughter, Olivia "Libbie" Coleman of Jonesboro, AR; one son, John (Julia) Walton of East Prairie, MO; ten grandchildren: Jamie Brewer, Terri (Louis) Wilson, and Wade Coleman of Jonesboro, AR; Jonathan Midkiff of Piggott, AR; Robert Walton and Whitney (Jesse) Alvarado of San Antonio, TX; Angelica (Tyler) Jennings, Noah Walton, Joshua Walton, and Sarah Walton of East Prairie, MO; ten great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Roberta Gann, one sister-in- law-Maxine Waldrop; Jeff, Tami, Amber, and Abby Gann, to whom she was "Grandma Bill", many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, and her little fur baby "Buddy".

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home, 808 Ward in Caruthersville, MO.  The Rev. Speedy Curtis and Brian Waldrop will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers will be Randal Hobbs, Robert Walton, Wade Coleman, James Pickens, Noah Walton, Joshua Walton, Louis Wilson and Chad Moody.

The McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston and the H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville are in charge of arrangements.
