BETTY L. TAYLOR WIGGINS, Age 76, a resident of Salem, IL and formerly of Charleston, MO, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem, IL.
She was born September 28, 1932 in Morehouse, MO to the late Rass L. and Nettie Pearl Sharkey Taylor. She had lived at Woodriver, IL for many years moving to Banning, CA in 1995. She later returned to Southeast Missouri where she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston. She had worked in dietary and housekeeping departments of various medical facilities until ill health forced her retirement in 1987.
In 1952, she married Carl Lloyd Wiggins who preceded her in death in 2005.
Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, Carl and Bobbie Wiggins of Charleston, MO; two daughters and sons in law, Deb and Dan Gilbert of Anza, CA and Denise Polivat and Ron Hamby of East Prairie; four brothers, Velton "Pappy" Taylor of Benton, MO; Roger Taylor,
James Taylor and Burt Taylor all of Farmingville, CA; 6 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
One infant son, Michael Wiggins and three sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral Services were conducted on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of Charleston, officiated.
Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
