William C. "Bill" Willoughby, III, 64, died at his home in Sikeston, Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. He was born January 17, 1950 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Alice (Owens) Willoughby who survives of Temple, Texas and the late William C. Willoughby, II. He had a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era, then served in the Florida National Guard and worked as a self employed truck driver and was a member of O.O.I.D.A. (Owner, Operator, Independent Driver Association). On March 22, 1997 he was married to Mildred V. Poley at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida and she survives of the home. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by 3 sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Willoughby of Nashville, TN, Bill (Kelly) Willoughby of Janesville, Wisconsin, Michael (Lisa) Layne of Desloge, MO; 4 daughters, Katie (Johnny) Rowell of Starke, Florida, Demetria Rupkey of Sikeston, Jody (Stacy Forrester) Poley of Sikeston and Susan (Travis) Kropp of St. Peters, MO; 7 brothers, Timmy Willoughby of Nova Scotia, Canada, Ricky Willoughby of Solvey, New York, Jimmy Willoughby, Joe Willoughby, Jay Willoughby, Danny Willoughby and Kenneth Willoughby all of Bell County, Texas; and 3 sisters, Linda Culp of Rockledge, Florida and Mary Willoughby and Judy Willoughby both of Bell County, Texas. 16 grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:00 pm Monday, Sept. 29 at Temple of Faith Baptist Church at 309 Smith St. in Sikeston. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm with Rev. Allen Rhyne, the pastor officiating. Graveside rites with full military honors will be at 10 am Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Rev.
