BILLIE JEAN RICHARDSON HILES, age 90, formerly of Bertrand, MO, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Country Place Assisted Living in Scott City, MO.

She was born June 2, 1932, at Gosnell, AR, to the late James Lafate Richardson and Martha Irene Cain Richardson.  Billie was a former resident of Bertrand.  In 1975, she relocated to Ellsinore, MO where she attended the Assembly of God Church. She later moved to Southeast Missouri to be closer to her family.  She was an employee of the Bertrand Nursing Center until her retirement.

On August 5, 1972, she married Henry Dudley Hiles, who preceded her in death on November 7, 1994.

Surviving are her children, Sheila James of Jackson, MO; Diane (Donald) Manker of Atoka, TN; her stepchildren, Roger (Sharon) Hiles of Northport, AL; Michael (Alice) Hiles of Pharr, TX and Ruth (Mike) Baer of Ferguson, IA; her sister, Ruth Estes of Bertrand and her brother, Dwight (Londa) Richardson of Cleveland, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Dudley Eugene Hiles; son in law, Glynn James; her brother, John Alvin "Buddy" Richardson; and her sisters, Mary Alice Winckel and Shirley Ann Cline.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Londa Richardson will officiate.

Interment will follow at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
