WILLIAM SMITH 'BILLY' BABB, Age 49, a resident of Matthews, MO and formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in New Madrid County, MO.
Born August 28, 1960 at Sikeston, MO to the late Edward Gene and Virginia Louise Weakley Babb, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and in Matthews since 2000. He was a self employed sheetrock and painting contractor and began his career working with Russell Smith of Charleston. He was a member of the Crowe Methodist Church at Matthews.
On November 11, 2000, he married Kathryn Mary Ferrell, who survives of the home at Matthews.
Also surviving are: four sons and two daughters-in-law, William James "B.J." and Summer Babb, Dustin Edward Babb and Tyler Randall Babb all of Charleston and William Edward and Angie Turner of Wheatfield, IN; one brother, Randall Gene Babb of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Pamela Sue Bucher of Paducah, KY; one granddaughter, Avah Marie Turner and one grandson, Levi Urvan Turner of Wheatfield, IN; one niece, Morgan Ashley Bucher; one nephew, Jordan Andrew Bucher both of Paducah, KY; also his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Blackburn Weakley Deck of Glen Allen, MO.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Smith and Lucy Randall Babb and his maternal grandfather, William Andrew Weakley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Kevin Mills, pastor of the Crowe Methodist Church at Matthews, will officiate.
