BILLY JOE BUTTRY, age 62, died Saturday, November 28, 2020, at his home in Charleston.

Born October 1, 1958, in Charleston, MO, to the late William Buttry and Bessie Wyatt Buttry, he had worked at Irrigation Central for a number of years and had attended Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.

On August 8, 2008, after being together for 24 years, he married Lisa Thurman, who survives of the home.

Also surviving is his son, Steven Paul Thurman, of Charleston, MO; his daughter, April (Ben) Schneider, of Charleston, MO; grandchildren, Dara Jo Thurman, Leah Marie Thurman, Isac Henry Schneider and Ethan Joseph Schneider; brothers, Leroy Buttry, of Pontiac MI, Tommy Buttry of Sikeston, MO, Charles Buttry of Sikeston, MO and Larry Buttry of Wyatt, MO; sisters, Bonnie Buttry of East Prairie, MO, Gladys Cast of Alto Pass, IL, and Rosalie Buttry Cornwell of Paducah, KY; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Buttry.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. David Belk will officiate.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be, Gary Coffer, Allan Hale, Lee Welch, Bobby Bigham, Jeremy Buttry, and Lance Tubbs.
