BILLY GENE JEFFORDS, age 79, a resident of Sikeston, transitioned to spirit, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the home of his daughter near Sikeston.

Born December 4, 1939, at Charleston, MO, to the late Raymond Jeffords and Hattie Genora Lee Jeffords, he had lived in the Charleston area most of his life later moving to Sikeston. He had been employed with MoDOT for over 31 years until his retirement and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was of Baptist belief.

Surviving are his daughters, Tracy Jeffords and Melissa (Dennis McKay) Jeffords both of Sikeston; his grandchildren, Ryan Daly, Cherish Daly, Summer Jeffords and Brent Schweighauser; his great grandchildren, Kiyden Beck and Kylee Schweighauser.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Jeffords, Jerry Jeffords and Bud Jeffords.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home.

Private burial will follow with full military honors.
