Obituary

BILLY CHARLES ROSE, SR., Age 70, a resident of Charleston, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born February 6, 1939 in the Fish Lake Community north of Charleston, Mo., to the late John Wesley and Mary Marie Smith Rose. He had lived in Charleston most of his life where he was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie. He had worked as a farmer for a number of years but for the last 30 years he had been employed with Wallace Reeves until his retirement.

On May 28, 1955, he married Doris Evelyn Hayden, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: one son and daughter in law: Bill and Tammy Rose of East Prairie; three daughters and one son in law, Penny Rose Coffer of Charleston; Karen and Eddie Hedge of Springville, TN and Vickie Rose of East Prairie; four sisters, Evelyn Barron of St. Louis, Sue Howard and Beverly (Tom) Humphrey both of East Prairie and Ann Williams of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, Heather (Bryan) Harrington, Megan (David) Aters, Steven Kuykendall, II, Courtney (Caleb) Hatton; Austin Rose, Hillary Day, Eddie Hedge, Jr., Amy Hedge and Blake Hedge; nine great grandchildren, Dakota and Brooklyn Harrington, Kyler and Dawson Aters, Tre Hedge, Billy Kuykendall, James Johnson, Kallie Revelle, Gavin Wallace.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Rose and Bobby Rose and by two sisters, Doris Burkett and Caroline Rose.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2010. Martin Lucas of East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: J.L. Littrell, Steve Burkett, Darrell Burkett, John Chandler, Emmett Groves, Phil Rowland and Stephen Carl Groves.
