Obituary

BOB F. WILLIAMS,SR. Age 83, a resident of Charleston, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Charleston Manor.

Born February 12, 1931, at Charleston, MO, to the late Jasper Mac and Velma Katherine Mitchell Williams, he lived in the St. Louis area a number of years where he was employed as a pipefitter with General Motors Company for 30 years until his retirement. He had served as president of the UAW Retirees for 10 years. Having served in the Missouri National Guard, he was an honorary member of the Charleston V.W.F. Post 4294, and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church near Charleston. He was a former deacon of the Faith Baptist Church at Freeburg, IL.

On May 28, 1949, at Charleston, Missouri, he married Goldie Pauline Ricker, who preceded him in death March, 2013.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Kay Weiman and Dink Johnson both of Yuma, AZ; one son, Bobby F. Williams of St. Charles, MO; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also a number of nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate.

The Missouri Military Honors program will provide military graveside rites.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
