In Loving Memory of Mrs. Bobbie Jean Robinson

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Robinson was born on December 31, 1954, in Benton, Mississippi, in Yazoo County, to the late Jessie and Christine Moton.

She was raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, and later spent many years living in Los Angeles, California. For more than a decade, she made Charleston, Missouri, her home, where she remained until her passing on June 22, 2026.

Bobbie Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, kindness, and the deep love she shared with her family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to those around her, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her loved ones for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elroy Robinson Jr.; her parents, Jessie and Christine Moton; and her sister, Dorothy Ann.

Bobbie Jean leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Marco Duane Moton, William Darnell Robinson, and Torri Shaunta Robinson; her grandchildren, Roderick Alan Fisher, III, Jamesia Robinson, TreVaughn Majal Robinson, and James Moton; and a host of great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, James, and her five sisters, Lillie Eva, Desser, Virgie, Anita, and Nickie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Bobbie Jean found great joy in sewing, listening to music, and cooking for the people she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She was especially known for her delicious caramel cake, which became a treasured family favorite and a lasting reminder of the love she poured into everything she made.

Music held a special place in Bobbie Jean’s heart. One of her favorite songs was Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” a song whose message of hope, perseverance, and change reflected the strength and resilience with which she lived her life.

Although Bobbie Jean is no longer with us in body, her love, wisdom, and beautiful spirit will continue to live through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all who were blessed to know her.

Her life was a gift, her memory is a treasure, and she will be deeply loved and forever missed.

Per the wishes of Bobbie Jean, there will be no formal public funeral services.
