Obituary

BOBBY GLEN DENNING, age 65, a resident of the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born September 7, 1947 in Charleston to the late Francis Warren and Ethel Stokes Denning. He had lived in southeast Missouri most of his life, was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, and had worked as a sales clerk with Wal Mart until his retirement in 2008. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Army National Guard until 1992.

On November 26, 1988 he married Katherine M. Donaldson who survives at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are two sons and daughters in law, Bobby Dale (Regina) Denning of Cape Girardeau, and Mark A. (Bridget) Denning of Sikeston; two step children, Charles "Jake" (Linda) Donaldson of Charleston and Jonna "Joni" (Bob) Berry of Jackson; four brothers, Frank J. Denning of Addison, IL, Bill G. Denning of Glendale, IL, Robert L. Denning of Sikeston, and Michael Denning of Elizabethton, TN; three sisters, Mary Keltner of Terre Haute, IN, Eva M. Dawson of Sanford, IL, and Frances L. Schlosser of Ironton, MO; four grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.

One daughter, Tammy L. Denning, and one brother, Charles E. Denning, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside rites at the IOOF Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
