Bobby Gene Swiney, age 83, of Morehouse, died Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born March 24, 1939, in Booneville, MS, to the late Walter Oswald "W.O." Swiney and Willie Evelyn McCombs Swiney.  He had lived in Morehouse most of his life and was engaged in farming.   He had attended the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse.

On July 12, 1958, he married Sue Henson, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his sons, Jeffrey Keith Swiney and Stanley Christopher (Meg) Swiney all of Sikeston; his grandson, Ben Norton Swiney of Sikeston and his sister, Martha Ann Ice of New Madrid, MO.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.  Ronnie Stevens, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Morehouse, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
