Brirdie Mae Clark-Standard, born August 1, 1964, in Charleston, Missouri, the beloved daughter of the late Delmo Dean and Lorine Clark, passed away on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

She attended Charleston Public Schools, where she met the love of her life, Larry Standard. They were united in marriage on October 14, 1994, and together raised four children. Brirdie graduated from Charleston High School in 1982 and later completed the Medical Specialist program at Metro Business College in 1987. For nearly 20 years, she worked as a caregiver, known for her compassion, warmth, and joyful spirit.

A free spirit with a wild heart, Brirdie never met a stranger. She loved gardening, decorating, fashion, cooking, dancing, music, and spending time with her family, whom she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Drewcella Clark, and her niece, Ladonna Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Standard; her children, Deyishia Clark, Brista (Dennis) Clark, Marintez Clark, and Tazh Clark; her grandchild, Kensington Clark; her sisters, Lucille Clark, Linda (Paul) Coleman, Diane Gary, and Brenda Crawford; her brothers, Marvin Clark, Charles Dean, Michael Dean, and Steve Williams; her lifelong best friend, Frances Modicue; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the United Methodist Church, 1700 East Marshall Street, Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
