Brittany Leann O'Conner, age 36, peacefully passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, in her home near East Prairie.

She was the mother to Nevaeh Leann Irby (17), Gracie Jo Irby (15) and her fur baby Buckwheat (5).

Born in Sikeston, MO on January 18, 1988, Brittany was the daughter of Michael (Smokey) O'Conner and Laura Johnson (Richard) Haney. She attended East Prairie Schools and was active in track and swimming.

Brittany enjoyed life and what it had to offer.  If she wasn't spending time with her girls and dog, she was fishing or hunting for rocks and arrowheads.   She will be remembered for her loving and kind heart and always funny jokes.   She had a deep and compassionate love for all of God's creatures.

Brittany is survived by her two daughters and her dog, her parents, a grandfather, Kenny Counts, a grandmother Anita Palmer Johnson, a brother, Joshua (Jamie) Nelson and sister, Kendy (Justin) Eberhard; three nieces, two nephews; also, several aunts and uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, Joe Wayne O'Conner, her grandparents Dixie Counts, and Bobby Jean Johnson, an uncle, James Johnson and a special cousin, Zachary Staggs.

Visitation is to be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2024, at the First Church of God in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the church.   Stanley Triplett, pastor at Blessed Assurance Ministries in East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow at Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Nelson, Austin Thompson, Randy Sanders, Dylan Staggs, Justin Eberhard, Josh Counts, Galon Baker and Gary Picard.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
