GORDON BRUCE CHAPMAN, II, 44, died Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at his home in Sikeston.
Born November 14, 1975, at Sikeston, to Bruce Chapman of East Prairie and Carletta Welch Samons of Bertrand, he was a 1994 graduate of East Prairie High School. Having lived in Mississippi County most of his life, he attended the Mid-America College of Funeral Service at Jeffersonville, IN and later worked with Custom Fuels and the Gates Rubber Company. He most recently worked with the Drury Hotel Company. He was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge 407 AF & AM and the Elm Street Baptist Church at Charleston.
In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by his fiancé, Savannah Fliess of Sikeston; his maternal grandmother, Shelby Welch of Charleston; his daughters, Hayli Chapman of Mobile, AL; Bella Chapman of Charleston and Shelby Joyce Chapman of Sikeston; his brother, Christopher (Sara) Chapman; his sister, Natalie (Russ) Wescoat; his stepmother, Marilyn Chapman of East Prairie; also, a number of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Micah Givens; stepfather, Charlie Samons; maternal grandfather, Walter Welch and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Jackson Chapman.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Jon Archie, pastor of the Elm Street Baptist Church near Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Tatum, Benjamin Nally, Lee Welch, Carl Welch, Brice Chapman and Cole Branam.
