Buddy Self

David Lee "Buddy" Self, age 88 of Wyatt, died Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Westfield Nursing Center near Sikeston.
Born February 24, 1933, at Bridges, MO to the late Charles Self and Katie Meisner Self. Always willing to help those in need, he was a long time Wyatt fixture where he was involved in the Volunteer Fire Department a number of years and was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church. For many years he was employed with Simmons Equipment Company.
On May 4, 1957, he married Mary Lillian Turner, who survives.
Also surviving are his son and daughter in law, Jerry Wayne and Stefanie Self, and his grandson, Marshall Andrew Self, all of Charleston; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David Joe Self, two infant sons, Charles Eugene Self and Elvis Marion Self; his brothers, Charles "Junior" Self and Herbert Self and his sisters, Grace Malone, Margaret Self and Pearl Fraley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.   A prayer will be offered by Rev. Dean Wallace.
Military graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

*** For those attending the Military Honors at the cemetery,  a facial covering or mask is required.
