Obituary

BUDDY LEE VANOVER, Age 72, a resident of Bertrand, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Bertrand Nursing Center.

Born April 30, 1940, at Sikeston, MO to the late Lester and Virginia Metcalf Vanover, he was a graduate of Sikeston High School. Having lived in Bertrand a most of his life, he was a salesman for Reelfoot Packing Company and later retired from Town and Country Supermarket after 4 years as a meat cutter. He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

On September 29, 1962, he married Marilyn Jean Jobe, who survives of the home in Bertrand.

Also surviving are: one son, Todd Vanover of Bertrand; one daughter and son in law, Sherry and Christian Curtis of Sikeston; three brothers, Myron (Brenda) Vanover of Sikeston; Jerry (Betty) Vanover of St. Charles, MO and Tony Vanover of Sikeston. Five grandchildren, Austin Vanover, Cody Vanover, Lexi Curtis, Lane Curtis and Anna Claire Curtis.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012. Dave Cullen, pastor of the Cornerstone Church in Bertrand, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Austin Vanover, Cody Vanover, Jody Vanover, Kevin Vanover, Scott Vanover and Mike Jobe.
