Charles Denver "C.D." Walker, 86, formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday Feb. 21 at Woodland Manor of Arnold. He was born Dec.22, 1929 in East Prairie to the late Edward Brown Walker and Charity (McClain) Walker. He had been an Intermediate Computer Draftsman and later with the Survey crew for Missouri Department of Transportation. He had also worked at J. C. Penney, Eubanks-Finney and Falkoff's Men's Stores in Sikeston. He had been a long-time member of First Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for many years and upon leaving Sikeston became the church's first Deacon Emeritus. He was married to Margaret (Jones) Walker June 7, 1953 in Charleston and she survives of the home in Imperial. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sandra Walker of Imperial; 1 brother, James Walker of Alton, IL; 4 grandchildren, Katie (Doug) Burthardt of Wentzville, Blake Walker of St. Louis, Victoria Sanders of Olympia Washington and Kimberly Sanders of Imperial; and by 3 great-grandchildren, Lily Walker, Austin Burthardt and Rylee Nikolaisen. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday Feb. 25. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday Feb. 26 at First Baptist Church in Sikeston with Rev. David Ross, the pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
